Former singer and songwriter of Austin’s Black Forest Fire, Jay Tonne, has a new indie project simply titled Tonne. The fresh rock, now out of Denver, has just released released our first listen from the project with “Catalina.” The track is our first listen from their upcoming EP, Bridey Murphy, which will be self-released on March 13th.
The track has a very catchy indie 90’s sound that reminds me of Superdrag, Nada Surf, and Fountains of Wayne with its melody but then also brings a touch of shoegaze as the song sprawls out past the five minute mark. If you are looking for a solid under the radar artist – give Tonne a spin!
