The premiere Fire Track today is from Jake Robertson and his solo alter-ego Alien Nosejob. Jake is a familiar face on the Melbourne music scene as he has also been a member in Ausmuteants, Smarts, Hierophants, and School Damage. “King’s Gambit” is a fantastic slice of modern new wave punk and is a great highlight off Alien Nosejob’s forthcoming full length, Paint It Clear, that is due out November 12th via co-release from Feel It and Anti Fade Records.
Robertson so far has not repeated himself as highlighted on this track. His Devo meets The Weirdos is an additive beat driven ride that is both spastic, punky and loose. If you judged Alien Nosejob by just one track – “King’s Gambit” should have you going all in! Paint It Clear is actually Jake’s fourth solo album, but first recorded in a proper studio with Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control) behind the boards.
