Today’s premiere video marks the return of San Diego noise pop outfit Crocodiles (Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell). “Upside Down In Heaven” is the title track and third single which corresponds with the release of the new LP today on Lolipop Records. The video is a fantastic satire and snapshot of some old school church TV. It also won’t take you long to sing along with the chorus “I’m alright, upside down in heaven – sadness brought me to your door!”
On the single, Charles Rowell wrote:
“Maybe I was chasing that elusive Stiff records sound or simply trying something that would make Westerberg smile. Either way it’s pure pop for heads who appreciate lyrics and melody. It’s a little sad but triumphant and true. If you’ve ever felt like you’re a little too far from home, like you’ve chased the dream until it’s turned into a nightmare, then here’s another song burning with regret and wasted wisdom.”
The Crocodiles have dropped 7 LPs, several EPs and singles and toured incessantly, bringing their unique brand of rock-n-roll to hungry fans in every corner of the globe. Upside Down In Heaven will continue their quest. In support of their brand new record, Crocodiles also recently announced a U.S. Tour, taking place this spring. View the full list of dates below.
